    Photos Blackbird & nesting material

This mother (I assume, from the browness of the plumage) was in my back garden collecting nesting material from under the shrubs.

I was in the house at the time and fired off 8 shots, the first six were when she was on the soil and almost blended in, so they were useless. The last two were when she flew up to the fence just after our cat went out through his cat flap making wierd "I'm a cat, your a bird" noises.

Taken on the 55-250 IS (my longest lens) and cropped as well, taken through the kitchen window!

Noiseware ran to soften up the foliage behind her.

Simple bird, but nice enough I guess. I even got a catchlight in her eye from somewhere!

Ya know mate, I'm not really one for bird photos. I guess it's probably because I don't have a lens long enough but sometimes they're just a bit boring. However, this one is much more interesting because it has more to it than just a "portrait" shot of a bird (which don't get me wrong, are taken superbly by many togs here and other places).

The nesting material in its beak tells more of a story because it shows the bird at work.

Plus the DoF is just right because you can still see the foliage detail in it.

Great pic of Mrs Blackbird there, but I feel you have overdone the effect on the foliage as it's no longer out of focus, but distorted. Great idea, nice crop and great subject of the bird at work like Ian pointed out.
What is it with steel wool? Is it steel? Or is it wool?

I guess your cat might have something to do with it?

Otherwise great shot with the nesting material in it's beak, you're always in the right spot camera handy...
    Greetings :)
