softmod question

hi i have no experienced moding game stations and have a question about the bannerbomb hack for version 4.0 . im led to believe it will work on older versions to ? but what i want to know is to play copied games is it as simple as burning the iso i have downloaded to disk then simply putting it into the wii and playing the game or are there other procedures i have to do prior to playing the games ? .

I've done one tonight just by updating to 4.0e then using the hack

No other steps required just download, burn and play

what is best media to burn disk ?
and how do i upgrade to 4.0 if i need to ? can you link to a tutorial please

The hack I posted in the banner bomb thread will add the homebrew channel and add a backup loader channel. To update to 4.0e just connect your wii wirelessly to your router and it should ask you to update. It takes a while for the progress bar to move but just stick with it, whatever you do don't turn it off.

a mate just said to me that i have to get the wii modded also with a chip to play the downloaded games like punch out or digital defenders or any other game i burn to disk . tell me he is wrong please as i was looking forward to trying this in the next day or so

With a soft mod you do not need a chip.
The soft mod acts as a chip.

Best disk is DVD-r, I use ritek dye G05 and never had a bad one yet

Just read, read and read some more. It is daunting at first but it is simple aslong as you follow the guides, checkout youtube for vids too. Always helps to 'see' something working aswell.

I tried a backup with a tuffdisk dvd-r. Worked fine they were a 100 for a tenner and had em for ages.

You can also connect a USB HDD though if you would prefer not to burn disks all the time.

cios rev 10 also gets rid of the 002 error
