Info Logon to any password protected Windows machine without knowing the password

    Kon-Boot
Disable any anti-virus progs before download and burn, they can be reenabled after.

!!! NOTE: THE ISO's ARE NOT BLANK !!!
!!! NOTE2: FOLLOWING FILES ARE FREE OF VIRUSES WHATSOEVER SO IF YOUR ANTIVIRUS SCREAMS ABOUT IT, EITHER YOU ARE ALREADY INFECTED WITH SOMETHING ELSE OR YOUR ANTIVIRUS SUCKS. IN BOTH CASES DON'T BOTHER WITH REPORTING IT TO ME. !!!

A nifty utility from Kryptos logic called Kon-Boot, which you can download from HERE

Make sure that the BIOS is set to boot from the CD drive. With the CD in the drive, boot the machine.

    Step1:
    - After the machine boots from the CD, you will see the splash screen as shown on the left hand side. Simply hit enter to continue

    Step 2:
    - After hitting enter in the previous step, you will find this second splash screen. This is important as as soon as you hit enter on this screen, you will be taken to the next step, which is booting Windows, there are no other steps to configure here. In a few minutes, the normal Windows boot menu will appear, just proceed as you normally do in your normal logon sequence to Windows

    Step 3:
    - On Windows Logon screen, fill in the name of the user whom you want to log on as, leave the password blank and hit enter

    Step 4:
    - Olla! you are logged in! and what's the coolest thing, you have not reset the password for the account at all. It simply let you in because it interacted with the kernel directly using Linux. No alteration was done to any hard drive content at all during the process of logging in.

    Step 5:
    - Remove the CD from the drive, and reboot. Your machine will now present you the normal ctrl+alt+del screen like it always use to, try logging on with the username we tried before with the blank password! The blank password will not work, you can only get in if you knew what the right password was..this demonstrates that the user password was never reset, it still is what it use to be.

Downloaded it, will probably never use it but you never know. Would be ever more clever if you didn't need to know the username so you could have a good old sneaky look lol

@ Simate: Just login as admin then look in c:\docs and setts.

@ Kraken : Nice one for sharing - great find. Will come back with k+ once someone says it works.

@ Kraken again : Damn you just beat me to it. I would give you double k+ for effiency if I was allowed!

It can login to the domain account but cannot connect to the domain as the credentials don't match. So if you just want to see local data you are OK.

Very handy little tool, good find Kracken.

    Edit:

Further to that, if you are trying it on a domain account disconnect the network cable first. It will lock the account when it tries to connect to network drives, exchange server, proxy etc.

I dont get a blue screen on Win7 , it just doesnt bypass the password. Works fine on everything else I have tried tho.

The first one I burned , just sat at a black screen with a flashing cursor in top left corner (burned with Nero and showed no errors). I re-burned with ImgBurn and was fine after that.

Maybe its how you burned it ?

You are not alone with not working on Windows 7

Nice one Kracken. Much better than resetting the local password using the samtool on a linux boot disk

hmm, it doesnt seem to be working for me guys

ive got a laptop here that when you switch it on and boots to windows it asks me to change my password cos its expired, has 3 boxes, the first where you type the old pw and then 2 boxes where you confirm the new pw.

i think it needs to log-on to a network to get in the laptop, i tried going into safe mode and the same screen comes up. ive tried using this disk and not typing anything and it just fails.

ive also tried the NT password/registry tool but that doesnt work when i try to clear the pw.

currently downloading windows home premium so i can format and reinstall windows but is there any other way i can sort it?

    thanks in advnace

    yus

edit: i think its reset the pw, the account wasnt working anymore and i had to hold shift to login to another account and then disable the autologin.

gonna reformat it probably as there are some features which are disabled
