Default Sky + box recording to vhs

hi guys my mum and dad have got sky in thier living room, but they still use a VHS video recorder as all this techno stuff is to complicated for them, so at the mo they record from sky to vhs.

I did the i wanna cancel thing last year, got a free sky+ box and free installation, i gave them a 32in LCD tele, but the next day i had to rip the lot out as they didnt like the tele and sky+ was to complex. So wht id like to know with the dual outputs at the back of the sky+ box, and whatever else is on the back

is there any other way to watch one chan and record another WITHOUT using the recording to the hard drive in the box. when it goes digital they will only be able to watch/record through the sky box, and they wanna be able to watch one side and record another,

i had virgin media installed for them down there aswell, but that means they will have to get use to 2 boxes and it will just confuse them as to what one does wot and all the diff remotes. so guys any ideas if it can be done???

    any thoughts appreciated

    Cheers

No there is no way they can watch 2 different channels using the Sky+ box, without recording one to the HD.

I am sure if you sit down with them for a few hours and explain it to them they will quickly grasp the Sky+, my parents are approaching 70 and they didnt like the Sky+ at all when it was installed, but they cope with it no problem now.

Unfortunately you are just going to have to persevere!

no m8, i took photos of the remote printed step by step instructions then lamenated it, and to be honest me dad just threw it in the corner and said thats no good to me(narky cunt LOL) he didnt even try i set it to record the things they watch so all they had to do was play it back, but now they wont be given a choice when the analogue goes off. oh well cheers for the info m8
