Default Wireless dongle keeps losing connection

I bought a Buffalo Nfinity Wireless USB adapter, heres a pic:

Plugged in USB on the comp and installed the software. No problems there. However the connection keeps going on it. If I leave it for half an hour or so then go back, it has disconnected itself.

I went to Device Manager and on the power tab of all USB connectors, unticked the box which states to disconnect if not used to save power but still same issue.

Is it just a shitty dongle (wasnt that cheap) or is it a simple setting that is disconnecting it when idle for a certain period of time?

Sorry to 'Bump' this but still having this issue. Can anyone advise? I have heard wireless PCI cards are much better so would one of those resolve this problem? I would imagine it would be more stable fitting a card rather than relying on a dongle.

I had problems with the Netgear ones - I know it's not the same but bear with me here...

Open a command prompt and do a continuous ping to your router
    ping -t <IP OF ROUTER>
Let it go for about a minute and see if any packets drop. If they do then it may be a problem with the stick. Also try setting your encryption to WPA2-PSK if you haven't I find WEP drops my connection quite a bit. Also check your power settings and make sure that there's nothing in there set to go to sleep.

I ended up scrapping my two sticks and bought a £19 PCI card from PCWorld and it works a treat. Ended up getting a few more for other machines in the house and for my kids PC.

+1 try repositioning the dongle, might also be some kinda interference ?
apparently mirrors, and other stuff can mess with the signal,
    havent looked into what else.
could try changing the wireless channel on the router ?
