PSP PSP firmware upgrade... someone please shoot me.

I am begining to think that digging out my old PSP (phat) is begging to be one of my biggest recent mistakes.

    I have a Phat PSP 1000
    Running 3.10 OE-A

I thought (mistakenly) i would do a simple upgrade to a new firmware... however, I didn't realise that I had to read half the internet to do so these days?

I have seen zillions of posts that say that you must use pandora battery mod.

Then I found this post that say you do not...

    http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/f133...ndora-t242363/

Then after following stage one of the guide (upgrade to normal sony firmware 5.03) I get the DADADADA error... which all accounts means I can't update to the normal firmware, because I am already hacked!

Then I find an obscure post to say, if you are already hacked you only need to follow the hacked upgrade path... this is point I have lost the will to live!

Can anyone tell me the easiest way to get my firmware from something that begins with 3 to something that begins with 5 without using the word "Pandora"... because I will have to twat you if you do!

    No need to use Pandora

You need to upgrade your firmware to 3.52M33 then update that to 3.52M33-4

Then upgrade all the way to 5.00M33

any other updates can be done from the PSP`s firmware update menu automatically..
