Just used this to add a couple of maps to a mates tomtom

Couldn't have come at a better time

Thanks for this but having a couple of problems in that my pda is not recognised. When I connect it to the usb it automatically starts active sync. When I try to search for the device there is nothing shown in the directories. If I remove the SD card from my pda and direct the program to it then it fills some of the boxes in on the BBS screen but I can't get it to activate any maps. Anyone have any ideas as to why this is. If I use the explore device menu I can see my pda but not in searcgh device.

I haven't tried to use this tool to activate a map that is not on a Tomtom unit, but have a look at Albert's activation tool posted in first post here -

I know that Albert's tool can be used to activate a map as long as you have got the DeviceID for your unit.

Thanks Russ, reading through the tutorial I thought you could point the programme to a downloaded map and it would then activate it and place it on your card/pda. Not to worry I'll do it the old way thanks.

Just got my PDA working with this wonderful app, just copy the new map onto the mem card. Then use a card reader ( most PC's have these built in now ). Using the proggy click find device and point it to the mem card (E: on my PC) then activate map - really easy. If you are still having problems pm me and we'll try to get it working.
