logo request for security business.

Hi all

I set up an IT security business a few years ago but never did anything with it. But now my partners have retired / left their jobs they're looking to get things moving with this company.

We've got a bog standard html page hosted at present but i want a better / professional logo, currently my colleague did it in clip art or something similar.

The company is called Mortisman LLP, It's an IT security firm - well it will be if we ever do anything with it.

Any help with a logo would be greatly appreciated.

well it's not really a site as such yet, it was only cobbled together in word, so asking for critique would be a bit painful.

I'm currently working on how to install wordpress or joomla onto our Easyspace site. Not getting very far. Got wordpress almost installed but can't get to the login screen, even though i've just got the admin username and password. Never done websites before !

Any way this is what we do / hope to do.

I'd like a logo that portrays solid, reliable, bold, authoritative. Don't really want anything too fancy.

Thanks Simate. I like the padlock and background, name and other text needs to look more serious and offical. ie reliable, bold, trusted, been around for many years.

strong bold flat colours, solid fonts. tends to promote security, trust and an established company..

These are really nice mc.dodd.

The first one i like most, is there any way you could make the text slightly bolder and stronger looking?

I like the second too but the shield badge makes it look more like a security guard firm i think. Maybe a square around the M might work?

hmm.. I see what you mean about the shield style logo, I think I'll revise that.. as for the top one, scaling the logo part will add more emphasis to the text.. I'll revise and repost..

You're right there coin-op. They are fantastic. I think i my favourites are 1 and 2 but the others are very nice as well. My only crit of the last 3 is that the font almost looks like the text associated with all things soviet / russian.

I'll have a word with my mates and see what they reckon and get back to you on which one we think is best.

perhaps it's the colour scheme suggesting 'soviet' to you.... I based your colours on the original artwork.. maybe changing it to green would help and then give a 'feeling' of safety..

Interesting point. I guess it's a toss up between red for red for danger, stop, etc or green for safety, go etc. Although I think the red is very striking.

Someone just mentioned to me that the eye reminds them of the C4 Big Brother logo. I suppose this has positive and negative connotations? The all seeing eye of Orwell's 1984 or Channel 4 reality show?

I like the second one, reminds me of the eye in Lord of the Rings - all seeing etc. etc. Would look good on a letterhead as well.

The font the last two is bold and gives the impression of being authoritative but also think the red emphasizes this. Going green on this one may be a little soft?

I have to agree, these were my initial thoughts behind the logo..
just had another play with this using a different font and slight revision..

edit: just need to darken the grey me thinks too..

The second one is excellent, I'd suggest sticking with the red.

Not a massive fan of the newest one Mc. Sorry to say. The 'M' in the logo seems to get a little lost.

How about having the eye as was originally but change the white (pupil part) to an 'M' in other words more centred I think???

I'm with Theo with regard to the 2nd one and also like the third.
