Eight Eyes

Found this lovely orb sider (or cross spider as some call them) today in the garden, and couldn't resist the chance to get the tubes out and look at the eight eyes.

It's a female as far as I can tell (no nads) and has a nice big web just a few inches away, where no doubt she'll be in later on tonight.

very clear shot (as usual). Looking at spiders at a distance isn't bad, but this made me shiver.

Good detail as always Paul.

The one I took a few weeks back is still in the conservatory and in the same place.. getting a tiny bit bigger but being in the conservatory really isn't bringing a wealth of food.
