    Photos Caterpillar

The wife was transplanting an Aquiliga plant from the back garden to the front of house border area and this caterpillar fell from the leaves. That is the leaf it is on the images I have, so I assume the eggs were laid on the Aquiliga and that it is using this as it's food.

It's a woolly bear as I called them as a kid, though its true identity I have yet to determine.

Excellent colours, spot on detail, very good mate. I just spent approx 20 mins trying to ID it but failed. You can submit a request via this site to get it identified http://www.whatsthiscaterpillar.co.uk/

Bilbo, are you using a specific macro lens or a couple of extenders for your macro shots?

I use the Sigma 105 Macro lens, and sometimes 1, 2 , or 3 Jessops extension tubes.
