upgrading a cpl of psp's

hi guys i have a psp 2003 flashed with 5.00 m33-3(thanks steve10574) and i want to update it to 5.50 gen b so madden and tiger will play. i have stuck the update 200kb in the psp and game directory, when i click update it justsays i need some time... as if it's working then switches of and then on again but is still stuck on 5.00 m33-3 any pointers guys please i'm a bit lame on the psp...Rob

do i need to put the original sony firmware in the same folder as well? and rename it?

You need to grab 5.50 GenA-4 from psp-hacks.com. The UPDATE folder needs to be copied over, it contains 5 files, one of which is the Sony firmware I believe, and is 27mb.
After that you need to get 5.50 GenB, and copy over the 5.50-genB-update folder, which is much smaller.

having a little prob i have done 2 of the psp 2003's with this firmware both flashed ok but the one with a 8b now will not restart any ideas guys? the 7d date code one is working fine...Rob

ok guts a little update and some more info for you this psp 2003 date code 7d,came to me with 5.00m33-3, i installed 5.50 gen a no problem and then installed 5.50 gen -b and it will know not boot up just goes to green light and blank screen,is it fooked? the dodgy TA88V3 board? can i recover it? any help please...Rob
Ps i'm trawling ths boards of psp-hacks at the moment but any pointers would be much apprecaited cheers

i have the same problem on one i modded recently

its wierd, take out the battery and use ac adapter and it boots fine
can then put the battery in and disconnect from mains and use it fine
power up with just battery in and just get a green light no screen
pop battery back out with green light on and put back in and green light comes on again

Emu your problem i think is that the battery is still set as a pandora battery i'm guessing as i read that on psp-hacks.com lol,but mine won't boot even like that...!! anybody help me?
