    Question 360 Media Centre

I currently use my old XBox1 as a media centre, being served by a Freecom NAS drive for Video and Music, it doesn't get used for Games any more as I tend to play stuff with the lad on the Wii, but now with the new Halo and Need for Speed out I fancy a bit of adult gaming again.

Question is though can I dtich the old box and still stream media to a 360 from a NAS drive?

So I could stream Xvid, DiVX and MP3 content to a 360 across the LAN?

If so it's a no brainer, next though as i'm not worried about cracking it open to fix it, is it worth picking up a cheap 3 RROD unit and trying to fix it or just going to somewhere like Game for a preowned or new deal.

i had a go at this but wasnt happy with the lack of supported formats on the 360 so went back to the original xbox, also found the original xbox much easier to setup with the shares etc.
You know he grew up as a little shitspark from the old shitflint and then he turned into a shitbonfire and driven by the winds of his monumental ignorance he turned into a raging shitfirestorm. If I get to be married to Barb I'll have total control of Sunnyvale and then I can unleash the shitnami tidal wave that will engulf Ricky and extinguish his shitflames forever. And with any luck he'll drown in the undershit of that wave. Shitwaves.

Had a feeling that this might be the case, the XBox is so nice and easy, XBMC from boot and everything at hand, as far as configurable Media Centres go it seems to be king.

I couldn't get my 360 to see my HP MV2020 NAS drive which is now sold anyway.

XBMC is still the definitive streaming app in my opinion. I use the 360 these days (or did until it packed in last week) - not using Media Centre though as it did my head in. I'm just streaming from WMP12.
