answer.............
doubt it, to get nova etc you need a bigger (80 cm) dish, angled in a different direction, a different decoder and probably a different LNB.
Swiss
Losing Gracefully Since September 2010
ok im willing to buy another dish forgot to add that
Have a search through this section m8...theres loads of threads similar to this from people looking for similar.
Unfortunately the sat scene is very quiet at the moment and without considerable outlay you aint gonna get much.

I did have a quick gander and i mean quick ill have another look
You can't get anything more than what is broadcast on Sky digital with the dish pointing at 28.2e.
Most the foreign football channels are on 13e and 19.2e which can be picked up on a 40cm dish in the south (I used to have a small camping dish\\ which got 80% signal on both). The lnb needed is just a standard universal lnb that sky use.
If you were to reposition the dish and point it at a different satellite then you still won't be able to get anything apart from free to air channels and even then not all of them as the sky box is very restricted in what channels it can view.
Even with a patched receiver you won't get much decrypted as the only thing worth it that is open with just keys is DigiTv on 1w. Get yourself a dreambox and a motorised dish (or a fixed dish with a monobloc pointing at 13e and 19.2e) and google cardsharing as it's not allowed to be talked about on here.
Will the set up here get me access to the footy?

It will on 1w, but for how much longer who knows, DigiTV are supposed to be doing a card swap to Nagra 3 so as soon as that happens it won't be available on that box. I'd go for a linux based box. Patches and keys are dying out, a linux box will still be going when they do .
Have a look at a cheap dm500 clone and buy all the bits yourself, it'll probably end up cheaper and with a lot more choice.
So if I am reading this correctly, I need:
Dreambox
Motorised dish
Anything else, any subscriptions?

Not necessarily a motorised dish. Most of the football is available on 13e and 19.2e so a dish with a monobloc would do. The only package that gets all the premiership football is on 7w and you'll need at least a 1.8m dish where you are.
I'll pm you with the rest mate.
Thanks beerman but you sure Ineed a 1.8m dish? That's fuckin massive

Thanks for clearing that up whiskyman. I need to look into this further.
Will be more questions coming

For 7w you will, all the other major sats like 28.e, 13e and 19.2e you'll get away with a little camping dish where you are. It just that 7w has every single premiership game, being a man u fan you'll get away with a smaller dish as most (if not all) Man U games can be had on 13e, 19.2e
Best thing to do is go for the biggest dish your mrs will put up with. I have an 80cm motorised dish and can see most sats 42e to 30w although the signal is a bit low on some sats (16e). I'd rather a 1m dish but the mrs wasn't exactly happy with the size of the 80cm on the wall so I think that will be pushing my luck getting a bigger one.
edit:beaten to it by whiskyman
I think i'll be alright to get a 1m dish.
Just got to find a reputable source for all the stuff I need. Can anyone recommend one to me?

A guy in Reading I know of has a 1.8m and he gets most transponders on 7w so that would be ok for Clubber.
All games are on showtime but as whiskeyman said, you can quite easily get away with an 80cm where Clubber is. Sky Italy (13e) has pretty much all the big four matches and so does Sky Germany (19e). Others worth having are Digitalb (16e), they have all games but 3pms. DigiTV on 1w still have a lot of football (not always English commentry) and can be opened with keys for now.
Matthewy2 you'll need a motor, a set of T&K brackets, a straight pole, a dish and a dreambox. As you are a bit further north you'll need to go for a bit of a bigger dish than Clubber would. You also need a bit of knowledge or at least a willingness to learn. Dreamboxes are linux based so any linux experience is an advantage.
I am interested in learning some of this as a new little thing.
i have messed around with 75% of the cable boxes out there and got bored of that.
How much do you think it would cost to get me started and do these dishes not look a bit silly on your house?
