I've only used torrents before for obtaining *legal* files, But I'm hearing more and more about newsgroups. What are they? How do they work?

Full speed, great variety, no uploading needed (like torrents). The authorities are starting to pay more attention to newsgroups but at the minute they seem to be focussing on the providers, not the users.

giganews or newshosting would be my top 2 , im currently with giganews on an unlimited plan

i was with giga then went to astraweb, best and cheapest ive seen, plus free ssl.

It's gotta be Astraweb, for about £7 a month you get unlimited downloads, 20 connections and SSL!

I've been with Astraweb for 13 months now and not had a single problem with them at all. Prior to Astraweb I was with Newshosting but found them to be shite, the service went down too often, this hasn't happened once with AW.

Giga now Astra, no problems and great speed for the 6 weeks or so I've used them.
