Touch Screen Probs

OK guys
got a ds lite, and all workin fine until now, it turns on, you press A to select the R4, game loads fine, you can play the likes of sonic and any side scrolling game.

BUT, any game where you need to use the stylus wont work at all, the curser thing just flies to the top right corner and stays there.

This is all ive been told about it, the ds belongs to mmy mates bird

so is the screen fucked and need replacing????, or is it summit daft

and if so where is the cheapest place to get a bottom touch screen for a ds lite

any thoughts really appreciated guys

You don't need a new screen just the digitizer easy to replace just be careful getting the sticker off thy holds it onto the screen as you'll be using it again

the are only about £5 from eBay

If it works with a normal game you have a screwed version of moonshell or similar which doesn't initialise the touch interface, re-install it on your R4

ITS THE OS THAT IS ON THE r4 CARD IT SOUNDS CORRUPT

DO A SEARCH IN DS CONSOLES, I POSTED A ZIP WITH MOONSHELL FOR R4 NOT TOO LONG AGO.

i dont shout, i get the caps lock stuck and cant be arsed to retype ...... yea can just corrupt more than likely if the ds is turned off while loading a game..

well i tried reinstalling moonshell and it still the same so looks like the digitizer thingy

Just try doing the screen calibration test in the ds settings and if it fails then it's the digitzier

already tried m8, touching the screen does nothing in the calibration, yet on games that need the stylus like mystery case files millionheir, the cursor just stays in the top right corner

its like she has stopped smoking she is fuckin so narky without it and is PURELY addicted to it, its the one i found in the street and gave to her and sh aint turned it off since i gave it to her, she prob wore the fuckin screen out LOL

so u reckon the digitizer will DEFFO work m8 ye, and is the digitizer included when you buy a screen as ive seen both for the same price on ebay £4.50, and they have em on deal extreme aswell, but take to long,

110% sure that the digitzer will fix it mate

If you can get the screen and the digitizer for that price them grab it mate as it'll save you messing around with the sticker that holds them
together

ive just watched a vid on takin one apart ad they said you have to swap the digitizer over to the new screen, i just automaticly assumed that it came with a new screen.

also on the vid it dont show you any stickers, he just pulled the digitizer away after prizing it off with a blade, but it just came away no prob??

Trust me there is a sticker between the 2 of them i've done loads of them

rite yeah thats what i said, the guy in the vid stuck a blade in and scraped it all around then just took it off

This is what you need mate, a new touch screen (not the LCD, just the actual touch screen). Only £5.49 too.
