2RL assistance required

My 360 finally died on me but I'm getting the 2RL error on it. Not sure on the revision of the board but it's HDMI and has pads stuck on the memory ICs.

I took it apart on Friday and removed the heat sinks, redid the thermal paste and reseated the heatsinks. Put it all together and powered it on. It run for about 3 minutes and the fan started getting fast again. Then bang - 2RL :-(

I'm totally skint at the moment and can't afford to buy a new 360 or send it off for repairs so any pointers I should follow to get my 'box back up and running?

2 red lights is over heating mate, the fans will spin up quick to try and clear the hot air. Sounds to me like you havent got a tight enough fit on the clamps as you say it does work for a shourt time. Redo the clamps on both chips and try again

Yeah - I think you are right. The heat sink over the CPU was quite loose for some reason. I might invest in an X-Clamp when I get some money My other 360's heat sinks were very tight on the IC compared to this one...
