    Default Sky in Motorhome

    Hi,

I have a satellite dish and comag STB in my motorhome. I only get the FTA channels as per Freeview.

I only use VM at home and as such I have no SKY subscription.

If i did subscribe to SKY at home. And I bought a suitable 12v STB for the Motorhome, would I be able to:

    a) Use the card from my home system in the Motorhome?

    b) Register & pay for a card/stb for another room in the house - and use this simultaneously in the van with the other Card/STB at home?

If the 12v STB can accept a Dragon cam then you can enter the serial number of your sky box into the Dragon Cam and get all of the channels you get at home.

    Hi,

To do this do is the card also required? If so would the card from the second box work? We often go away for long periods and would want the subscribed channels to be available at home as well as away?

Is this possible via any of the above options?

    THANKS

Yes the card is still required in the box, with a Dragon cam the card from any box will work as long as you have the serial number from the box its paired with to enter into the dragon.

Of course the easiest way is to take your multiroom box with you, but how you get that to work of a 12v supply aint my bag baby! lol

Why not just buy an inverter and take your Sky box ? Alternatively, most camping sites these days have 240V hook up points.

We seem to be losing our way slightly here.

I have VM in the house (and can't take Cable with me), it is no problem for me to get a 12v set up (I use one now albeit without the card slot).

I need 12v as most of our exploits are on Aires in France without hook up and I don't like running the generator. An invertor is an option but I prefer to stick to 12v if im honest.

The "If I did subscribe" comment I made. Let's call it, "hypothetical".

MANY THANKS for all the replies.
