Excel 2007 Password Cracker

Hi,

I have a user here who can't remember the password for an Excel 2007 file. Is there any good tools that I can use to crack the password?

I have tried the program on the following link - http://www.straxx.com/excel/password.html but with no success. Any help would be appreciated.

Or get him to redo the whole thing as punishment for being stupid.

You could just try a brute-force program for this but don't know how long it would take.
I take it the first program you tried just looks to circumvent the password.

I only have 2003 so can't really test it unfortunately.
Will take longer depending on the length of the password they used.

Sorry just noticed it's not compatible with 2007, very good for all previous versions though

Passware Kit Enterprise I think that will do the job.

Site lists Excel 2007 as a supported file type. Will also brute force it. Also try first with a dictionary attack using the biggest dictionary file you can find.

Fixed versions prob in usual places.
