    The 1st one I did was a P1 200 mmx to 300, and stable thanks to a K6 500 cooler and 3 fans.
Now running and Athlon 1200 @ 1440 (120 mhz * 12) Stable temp @ 38c using an XP cooler and again 3 fans

    Regards,
    Cybertaff

How are you overclocking, are you just increasing the FSB or have you unlocked the XP?. Also what stepping is it? Different steppings allow different margins of overclock, and remember no overclock is guaranteed.

I have got a friend who lives in china and is really rich, he says he has got a processor tht runs at 8.4GHz, he says that it was built by on of the small chinese companies that cost him a bomb!!!
Knowing the dodgy dealings that go in china (from when he comes back he tells us) he is probably not lying

i dont know how that would happen seeing as there would be matching spec cpu's out from intel and amd

and this guy would have to be richer than a millionaire to afford this

    i smell BS imho

    Default Cooling

Just wondering about a couple things.

I would like to use liquid or phase change cooling on a PPC processor, it starts off a lot cooler, so for a given system, Id be able to crank it up that much more, but Ive seen these 12V cool boxes on sale in Aldis, Woolworths etc for £30 or so, using 50watt Peltier pumps.

Would these be ok to use, at the normal 12v, or does anyone know where to get the specs on for cranking the votage up on them. Is there an increase in cooling capacity possible with them, or are they tuned for 12 V operation, increasing power causing extra self heating, cancelling out the peltier effect?

Ive also seen in one publication, that CMOS is 50% more efficient, when prechilled down to minus 120 C.. Anyone seen anything of this?

Sigh, having to take 3 days to prechill the heavily insulated case before you can even switch it on seems a bit of a pain.

    RodTerl

Rough calculations, show a 800 Mhz PPC, using 3 Watt power, should be able to be lifted to about 4.8Ghz, using a standard P4 cooler. Using precool, and stacked Peltier?.. I think might just get 10Ghz, using a kilowat cooling and a chest freezer to hold it. 8)

I am not very experienced in over clocking but my last pc I over clock my athlon 800 to 1100. By crossing the two bridges’ on the processor with a pencil, then just upping the processor speed, also upping the voltage's and changing the cooling the fan to a fop 32.
