    Default Windows 7 Upgrade problem

    Hi guys,

Upgraded my Vista to Windows 7 Ultimate and all went well until the final boot. My screen now says the following error:

A recent hardware change or software change might might have installed blahh blahh the usual text

    File: \windows\system32\winload.exe
    Status: 0xc0000428
Info: Windows cannot verify the digital signature for this file

If I press enter to the windows boot manager it shows my last Vista install and memory check and it just goes round and round in circles.

It says something about "Temporary disable the signature enforcment" but how?

    Any help.

Pulling my hair out, dont want to loose my stuff hence the upgrade.

    Regards

    PS,
If I install and boot off the install disc and try a repair nothing is found.
I’m alive and kicking yeh baby.

Ive had the same thing m8 but the reason why it done it for me was that i accidentally told my computer to boot from the hard drive that didn't have the os installed on it. For some reason i couldn't fix it so gave up and am reinstalling windows and doing a clean install.

Ok I fixed it by following this:

    1. Put the Windows Vista or Windows 7 installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.
    2. Press a key when you are prompted.
    3. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next.
    4. Click Repair your computer.
    5. Click the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next.
    6. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click Command Prompt.
    7. Type Bootrec.exe, and then press ENTER.
    I ran: Bootrec.exe/fixboot

    Machine now loads up.
