SOWS was the shits. Slow, tiny graphics and crappy ping pong passing. The only reason people liked it was because it had stick ball and was easier to play. Kick Off 2 was a man's game!

apparently codemaster have the rights, again, to sensi, they are supposedly working on a GBC version of cannon fodder, so if we want sensi back we might try putting a bit of pressure on CM!!! not likely but hey its a start!

SWOS was the best game for the amiga, I've probably played more swos than any other sports game combined totally addictive and wicked playing against your mates. Used to play it all the time up till the disk got 2 scratched to work ny more (I invested in the pc version). anyone know where I can get hold of a version for pc?

SWOS without a doubt, nothing like wurling one in from 40 yards away and then heading it in the bottom corner.

As well as the (not yet beaten) career mode bringing in players with speed always helped. Only problem i had with SWOS was that of your players going down in value even if u smashed in 50+ goals a season (anybody know why?)

I still know people who are still hardcore fans of SWOS including me, i just hope an up to date version will come out like what has happened with Kick Off (KO2002 should be able to find it in shops like Game now)

Anyways anybody who does wanna play shouldn't find it hard finding one of the SWOS versions to download for your PC and some fans are still updating it with player transfers from this year!

    Kick off any day

I had Kick off on the Atari St and the Amiga

Kick off 2 was amazing oncew you got used to it.

Loads better than sensi which was ok.

The Anco boys did a great job, the speed was great and with a sidewinder or navigator joystick superb

honestly you lot must have bad memories - altho SWOS and kick off were both OK, only 2 footy games have ever come up to scratch :

    1) MATCH DAY - Spectrum

do you remember the goalkeepers who "unwrapped" and became 12 ft long due to poor perspective work by the gfx artists

    2) INTERNATIONAL SOCCER - C64

    The greatest ever.
You could do that thing from the kick off where you kicked the ball so another man was heading it and then he ran the full length of the pitch heading the ball until it went in the net - DIFFERENT ****IN CLASS.

    let's keep it real please

What about Football Manager? The original management simulation with such star players as Cyril Regis and co...

Emlyn hughes football was good too for the ol' faithful speccy.

Sensible Soccer on the Amiga 500 was AMAZING. Didnt like Kick Off it was hard to run with the ball i found, But as its about Kick Off 2 i cant say, not sure if i played it. But cant see it beatin SS on the Amiga.

Still remember on one of the SS versions you could change the players names, i remember going through all the top leauge teams and making sure every player was the correct named player.Me and my mates also had one team and that would be are school team players names. LOL .

/me thinks lookin back this was sad.

But it was great at the time pretending i had just smashed in a hatrick against man u.

The swerve you could put on the ball was brill. and running down the pitch in line with the post, then shooting and just give it that little bit of swerve. would score some crackers like that.

K thats enough remembering back to my childhood.

Kick Off was THE GAME!! I swore that I could have beaten anyone in the WORLD at that game when I was a kid! Infact I bought the Amiga just to play that game (which then addicted me to CM so it has a lot to answer for!!).

But if you read through the threads it seems that people didnt like KO2 cos it was 'too hard to control the ball'... so you didnt like it cos you couldnt play it?!?!

Like WTD said, it was a mans game and only the best could compete. I can remember getting all the addons for KO including the one that had all the greatest ever players for the chosen teams... Class.

They released a PC version last year which was a sacrilage on the origional, lets hope the console release mentioned will be better....

For its time, it couldnt be touched.

You may wanna take a gander at my latest and greatest project, www.retrosoccer.net, I am the guy who runs the www.remakes.org site mentioned in a post just below this one.

We are remaking Sensi - well making a game based on Sensi (the Megadrive version with the option for "glue foot") - which will be free to use offline, but pay for it and you will gain entry to online leagues, be able to play ur m8's online, alter your teams etc etc

Very much in the early stages but we're getting there slowly ....
