the intro courses are cheap, but if you want to convert it into anything meaningful then the prices start to rise the further you get into it.

I'm really not bothered about the price, Money aint a problem

When I looked into it I was suprised at the price. I didn't really know what to expect but expected it to be more than it was.

I can't offer any helpful advice, but best of luck. It takes a lot of commitment.

I would say go for it. My OH is a OU tutor and assessor. I know how hard she and her colleagues work behind the scenes. Good structure to it all to with private forums just for your course. If money no object then go for it!

I have a Computing & IT degree with the OU. Its not easy fitting it in if you work for a living but its a decent degree and many employers respect the extra effort it takes. Go for it

I did a basic understanding management course a few years back and found it pretty easy as a start.

The whole thing was quite a good idea, but not sure if it was for me really.
I mean, I was basically sent a pack which contained a book. I had to read through the book and do activities/tasks at the end of each section. Not a bad way to respond to what you just read. Then you had to do a couple of assignments at the end to write what you have learnt through the book.

The tutor arranges a time and day each week to call you, you ask/answer questions and raise any issues you might have. The tutors are very friendly and helpful and are on hand to answer questions all the time (not just your arranged 1 hr).
If your in full/part time employment then I'd recommend it, if not then I'd maybe suggest going to college where you learn from a tutor face to face.
You do need to be disciplined to do it, it's a case that you have to organise your time to do the work and stick to it, otherwise you'll be wasting your money.

I know I'll be looking to do another one in a few years time when my kids are older, time at the moment is a problem.

    I hope this helps.
