With a general election around six months away, information on how the opposition would cope with the next generation broadband rollout and the pledge to provide all homes in the UK with a broadband connection, would seem to be in order.

According to the Guardian, the conservatives would move the next generation broadband rollout forward.

However, according to the conservatives, it would be the urban areas of the country that would get the next generation broadband service first.

It is simple maths; more people equals more votes.

The conservative shadow culture secretary, Jeremy Hunt, believes that once the urban areas have been converted to super fast broadband then it can be rolled out into the rural areas.

This is a plan that is going to disappoint many rural communities that are counting on broadband being made available.
