    Default Training Day

Review: Denzel Washington plays the ultra cool, but ultra twisted Detective Alonzo Harris as he trains Officer Jake Hoyt (Ethan Hawke) to join his team of elite undercover cops in the hood. The setting was LA the cast was brilliant including roles played by Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg and Macy Gray.

The plot focused on Officer Jake Hoyts first day as an undercover cop, if he impressed Alonzo he was on the squad, if not he went back to writing parking tickets. I don't want to give too much away because this is a very good script written with plenty of twists, lets just say the last words Alonzo says before the movies ends is 'What a day, what a motherf-cking day' and I believe that summed it all up perfectly for me.

This is something you should definitely go out and get, without a doubt.

    Rating: 9/10
    Genre: Drama

I was suprised by this movie, I do not normally go in for this kind of thing but it had an original and interesting slant on the typical cop movie.

However Washingtons preformance IMO was very over rated and I find him to be at times very over dramatic and as such comes across as very false. While certainly not a bad performance I do not feel it was Oscar worthy. Ethan Hawke was as solid as he always is.

Certainly an above average film which is made in part by the excellent script. I wouldn't rate it as high as xdam.....but..

I really enjoyed this film, Denzil Washington was really good as a bad guy. And there is alot of action to take in, it should keep most people entertained!

Speaking of Snoop Dogg.. Seen 'Wrecking Crew' ? That must be THE most crappy movie ever. Don't get me wrong, I like Snoop Dogg, and Rap music aswell.. But that movie has no plot at all *sigh* For those of you who have seen it, you know what I'm talking about, eh ?

I thought it was pretty good since the script was written by a posh white guy!!!!

I mean no affence, its just that most of it was slang and on the dvd's special features, hes wearing a suit, he doesnt look like the kinda guy to write something like that!!!

Recommended. Denzel Washington was ****ing scary in this one. I'm so used to him playing the good guys, I didn't think he had it in him!

must admit, the film didn't appeal to me with the trailers I saw and the film title didnt really give much away, but wow what a film, one of the most gripping movies I have seen for a while, I enjoyed thoroughly and I would recommend to all to see it.
