Default What was your first 'backup' CD?

Was just browsing my CDs for something to listen to, and came across my first every 'backup' CD: Travis - The Man Who, I think from 1998. Which is a bloody long time ago if you ask me! I feel very old.
The CD is about twice as thick as a normal one now, and doesn't play too well. The good old days...

So it got me thinking- what was your first copy CD, and do you still have it? More importantly, does it still work? I'm a bit worried that a CD only 11 years old won't play anymore - so much for amazing digital storage.

The first one I burnt was Hi-5 for the children as I have always had an mp3 player and never needed to burn them to CD. First download was some Kylie album I found on a FTP site which I got via dial-up (took a few hours)

Mine wasn't a mucic cd, it was tekken on the playstation. I was swapping the discs over with the cd player lid propped open with the inside of a bic biro, or something like that. I suppose that would date it to 1995 (the game, not the biro)
No sympathy for the devil; keep that in mind. Buy the ticket, take the ride...

BT PhoneBase 1993 a wonderful dos based program who's only copy protection is a install password "letmein". Still have it though its been written better quality media since the original gold CD media it was burnt to. My first single speed cd burner cost £1,300. And the blank CD's were a tenner.

God I remember that. I remember blanks being about ten quid from the fairs and thinking 'jesus I'll never have more than 10 of them".

First ever backup was a compilation of PC applications including QEMM (for the old fogies out there ). It cost me £50 and I was blown away by how much stuff was on a 650MB disc. I do indeed still have it on the origianl gold blank. God I'm old

About the same time as me, I had a philips single speed external box as big as my pc (scsi interface), took an hour to copy most things. Was usually music cd's till I got to paying £25 for a blobby then copied it and made a good return on my investment lol.
