AceKard Compatibility??

Hi

im buying 3 of these cards as presents. but i have a question

ive no idea wether there on 1.3 or 1.4 firmware for DSi

if i get the cards and put the 1.4 firmware on it will it be backwards compatible with older firmware?

also are the cards regionfree?

only experience i have is with r4 and i heard these are far superior. anything else i should be aware of please let me know

Normally if your dsi is using the 1.4 firmware already the Acekard will not work, but you can update it by flashing the cart by putting it in an old DS Lite or a none 1.4 DSi. Once it's updated it will work on any version of the DS.

so is there no card that works on 1.3 and 1.4 out of the box?

lets say i was to flash it with a ds lite, would it then work on 1.3 and 1.4?

Yes if you flash it it will work on 1.3 and 1.4 and any other DS. I believe the new R4i Upgrade works on 1.4 straight out of the box, but these are inferior to the Acekard imo

hard to understand why they dont just come preflashed if they work on the lot after being flashed

i suppose its illegal to send them out that way or something

it would be a shame to send them down as presents and they dont work on christmas day

knowing my luck theyll arrive a week before and not give me much time to get it sorted. they live the other end of the country

just head over to http://linfoxdomain.com/nintendo/ds/ download the 1.4i update onto a mem card stick it in the ds or a dsi running 1.3 firmware click on the update and then put the firmware and roms on your card and it will work have done one for my daughter for xmas,just in case her dsi is 1.4 out of the box...Rob

that sounds good because i have no access to a dsi at the moment

could you by any chance just zip up all the files and i could extract them to the memory cards root?

would that work? or does it have to be updated with the ds lite

no there are 2 files included with the update one for flashing with a dsi and one for using a DS...Rob

just unzip them to the root of your card,if your unsure head over to gbatemp.net or look on youtube there are plenty of walkthroughs on those sites mate...Rob
