As some of you newer members may not know, Digital Forums has a chat room (channel) on IRC (Internet Relay Chat)...
Recently its been a bit quiet.. so myself and bean_2k1 decided to make a simple guide so that u could get in the channel and chat with the likes of us scum.
There are 2 ways to get in there:
The easy way (for the less advanced user):
To get on the chat room, simply click the button at the top of the index page labeled "Chat"
You may be prompted to allow a java applet to run... this is simply to allow you u connect to the channel and is totally safe.
The slightly more complicated way (for average DF user):
You can access the room by downloading the Mirc client from [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
This program will also allow you to gain access to and chat in thousands of other chat rooms. Where as just using the chat button.... doesn't
Once you've downloaded that, install and connect to an Efnet server(read the instructions or read [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] for help). Read the Mirc site and the program's help file, to set it up (i.e. create a nick name etc), this should take no longer than a couple of minutes.
Then join #digital-forums (all channel names have a "#" before them).
To join the channel, type: /join #digital-forums
Ok gents..... in a moment of extreme boardness one of our DF channel residents and patrons - T2001 (or T2K1) as some may know him.... or the sheep lover to his close friends has taken the time to write all you IRC virgins a very impressive little tutorial. It is in .doc format so u have to have Word or somethin installed..... but if u dont have that.... then just use the inferior tutorial above
CLICK [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] FOR THE IDIOT PROOF TUTORIAL
If u still cannot get into the DF channel after reading these totally idiot proof tutorials...... then u r simply too stupid to be in possesion of a PC, in which case please click Shut Down and take 5 steps back.
Hopefully with a bit of luck u should now be in the Digital-Forums chat channel.....
We hope this help you
See you in there!
