    Default Battery Pack

I don't know if any of you have the same problem a battery pack only holding charge for 5 to 15 min but i had 2 packs that did not hold power.
Now i know you have to fully discharge nickel-cadmium battery but as they are Nickel-metal hydride i did not think you had to (but i dont know for sure).
I use a fast charge kit and play and charge but the controller will not let you run the battery flat so i made a crude discharge rig (see pic)

it took a few days and the battery ran for 2 days @ under 1volt.

well it works and holds charge now so that saved me 20 quid so im off to get some beer

Just thought i would share in case some of you guys have the same propblem

just found this might be interesting to some one looking at the same problem http://www.batteryspace.com/prod-specs/RR11-1-07.pdf

i've had same problem bought a brand new black one for my new super elite, it took around 10-12 hours to full charge left on over night and went off about 11.30am ever since then it does not hold charge. the bat will charge when playing and will display 1 bar, and if i turn the console off it should charge the bat and then turn the console off and should display the red light, but it doesn't it will show the green light and then turn the console off. if i turn the pad back on without the charge cable the green lights on the pad spin.

Got a few of these that are the same myself, only hold charge for half an hour at most.

Can you explain this rig thing, is it to drain the battery totally dead before you recharge or something?

its just a vibrate motor from an old joy pad and 2 screw thats go to the 2nd and and 4th contact on the pack you could use a bulb or any thing thats happy to run at under 1 volt but can also handle 3 volts (just in case the pack has charge in it)
