Yes you can with out a GPS - but you can not map with out one...

The best option is Kismet software - because it does not connect - Prism only - Linux only kismetwireless.net

Netstumbler is a bit on the dark side - this connects and does not see as much as Kismet

I know c0redump, the guy who runs http://www.ackers.org.uk/, stayed the weekend at his for a meet in London. Top guy, even if he doesn't come online too much anymore (he discovered women lol).

Anyway, as for wardriving, here's my experiances.

    Hardware:

    2 x Lucent ORiNOCO Silver (40bit WEP)
1 x Lucent ORiNOCO Gold (128bit WEP, for for free from some guy I bought an arial off on eBay. He made a mistake, I kept my mouth shut. )
    1 x D-Link DWL-810 Ethernet-to-wireless Bridge

The Silvers are in my Desktop machine and Laptop, the Gold in my IPAQ and the Bridge is connected to my XBOX.

    Stumbling:

Not much around here. Used both my lappy and IPAQ on my travels, but not found much around the north-west. I usually have a go around Manchester City Centre, Salford and Bolton/Horwich, but I've only come accross a couple in Horwich in my time (outskirts of Bolton, near the Reebok Stadium).

If anyone knows where I can find some, it'd be much appriciated!
