    Can't read that mate.

Try typing the following at the command prompt and post the results:

    tasklist /v

You have defragged the HDD Etc..

Have you got free memory and so on?

    What spec is the machine?

I guess you're typing it straight into Start -> Run?

In that case you need to enter 'cmd' into that box, which launches the command prompt, then just type the command in there and it won't quit..

You just highlight it to select it and then right click to copy to the clipboard.

how long's the box been up?

explorer & icqlite have used over 40 minutes CPU time all by themselves..

in task manager, what's the cpu usage of the box at the moment?

how much memory is in the box?

start off by defragmenting the disk via Computer Management

Okay mate, definitely a problem, if you click on the Processes tab in Task Manager and then click on the CPU column header it will sort the processes by CPU usage - if explorer.exe is using all the CPU then try killing that, what is icqlite? A different version of ICQ??

Any other processes using a lot of CPU as well?

Here is what you should do. Run Msconfig in the start run menue. hen disable anything but run32.dll and systray. That is all you need everything else is pointless extras that you dont really need. Uncheck all those and reboot. Makesure you make a backup incase you have a weird configuration. Should help you a ton!
