scott high octane free ride (FR)
Some slight wear to the seat, brakes need bleeding (bleeding kit inc), new handlebar grips, derailleurs need adjusting and obviously some slight chips etc.
Paid over £2000 for this a few year ago
    Looking for around £800
Can arrange to meet up etc to sort out delivery / to check on bike

Size: Small (It isn't small though - spoke to a guy from Scott UK about which size to get before buying. He advised me to get a small, he was 6ft and had the same)

    Bike has

    Manitou Sherman front shocks.

Fifth element rear shock which has been serviced, and the control valve modified by TF tuned.

    Shimano XT rear mech

    Shimano XT front derailleur

Hayes HXF Mag 9 disc brakes with new sintered pads, front and rear.

    Wipperman connex chain

    Alexrims SUPR A-D p30 rims

Schwalbe light fat Albert tyres (Came fitted with the bike from new, never changed).

    Also comes with

SHOCK Master blaster pump, used to regulate the pressure of the 5th element rear shock. 60 to 200 psi pressure gauge.

Genuine Hayes bleed kit with unopened bottle of Hayes D.O.T 4 brake oil.

What Mountain Bike Best Money No Object Full Sus Freeride

Over the top? No sweat in Scotts 180mm gravity sled.

In the heavily ostentatious world of full face helmets and skinny bodies transformed into armored he-men, Scotts super pimpy moto graphics are spot on. Bling and indeed bling. Happily its performance easily matches up to its over the top outfit.. Infact over the top is one the performance priorities of the bike, grasping the huge one point Five steerer for the Manitou fork in a lattice work head tube fist. Cunningly this can be adjusted to make a standard 11/8 fork if you’d rather use triple crowns.

But the adjustability does not stop there. The huge down tube sits the front of the shock on a sliding four position trunnion and there’s a movable mount for the rear of the shock too. Add in a carbon fibre seat sub frame that offers three different seat angles, and the octane can be set up from anywhere from a short, sharp seat angle ‘freerider’ with 140mm of travel, to a 180mm gravity sled. Progressive rear shock also gives masses of rear stroke damping preload/rebound options.

Scott has plugged a dirty great fork into a relatively light and agile bike without affecting the balance. Most freeride bikes tend to plunge off drops and thrash their rears around when the going gets leary, but the Scott is totally planted. Sit back for the freefall stuff and the back end will gulp down the landing. Drive the forks hard into rooted corners and the back end will stay solid for laying down exit speed. It’ll even winch up some technical climbs if you’re patient. Componentry is all top hardcore gear too, but we’ve run out of words, so you’ll have to play ‘I spy’ with the picture.
