i would think very wisely before doing this. Blueyonder DO KNOW about it and those they find have tampered with the docsis software on the modem get a lovely letter through the post referring them to the terms of service. People HAVE been kicked off for doing it so you should ask yourself, is it worth it?

This is true by the way, but if you dont believe me - go ahead take your chance, its just like playing russian roulette with your broadband connection

i tried uncapping it again today, after putting it back to normal. I'm having problems now, it doesn't seem to work.

Oh, I've heard if you have a SB3100, you have to ping it (goto start, run, type in "ping 192.168.100.1 -t"). Then it may ask for the file, if that helps.

    Regards,

    byb

works fine on mine, you do need the md5 file from the first page,
how far do you get then?
sometimes takes a while to ask for the config file

okay, the resolving host address is the problem, you need to load tftp and click settings, restore to defaults, then reset all settings that were there before, shouldn't take long to get them right, make sure you dont close the program at all, i think that is whats happened, it will give you an error message saying changes will not take effect until the proigram is restarted but dont worry about that, it is ver important to get tftp to say listening on port 69 before you unplug the modem.

let me know how you get on,

Wont be here most of the day as my mate is getting married in 45 minutes.

    Damn Sh|t im late!!!
