Just had a quick Google, should be able to use it abroad still but not in the UK at all. Would make a nice fancy paperweight though lol.

You can buy a cheap charger from asda for £4.99
and a 8gb micro sd card for music as it has normal jack out !
also it can connect to wifi still ,so you can browse the web still
plus all the games it has
so it may be some use to someone
Id use it for music but have me old ipod !

Closing this, not happy with the legality of passing on a barred phone.
I am happy to be corrected but my understanding is if it's been barred it is either stolen, has outstanding finance or still the property of the provider in which case you would have no legal right to pass it on.
