it aint official its a prediction. Its possible that the GC (not poss. with Xbox tho) rapidly boosts sales and becomes number 1. There are all sorts of possibilities.

I think the Xbox will have a good run into Xmas. With Sega backing them I really do think it will do well. I love my PS2 but I am thinking of buying the Xbox for its sharper graphics!!

I would give the xbox another 6 months before it gets the chop. It is now looking desperate from microsoft. 2 price drops and now free games the console has only been out for a short period of time and it has done all the marketing stratergies of a console that is 2-3 years old. It wont last!!!!!
Dont get me wrong my mate has got 1 and i like it but from being released at �300 it was doomed to fail with the other consoles that were available at its release time.

Just bought my second xbox.

Had one
sold it
envied my mates on Halo
looked at my PS2
thought it needed a mate
bouught an xbox
now I'm happy
and hope both consoles do well!!!

Both consoles are good and each has its plus points, but does the prediction for sales take into account the growth in X Box sales due to modding ability. I'm sure the ability to modify a console will produce better sales. I'm not saying X Box will outsell PS2, but gamecube may suffer. X Box way better than gamecube.
Just a thought.

The xbox is such an attractive option at the moment. Developers have started to aim at the xbox as their main machine to develop for. At the moment, most games are developed for the ps2 and then ported over to the xbox making it's extra 'power' redundant. When they start developing games for the xbox first then people will take notice.
