hate to be boring but the godfather trilogy was awesome. they're an experience in themselves.

    also loved goodfellas.

believe it or not i'd managed to stay away from these until last year when I bought the trilogy in safeway of all places.

everything about all three films was great, and coppola's daughter was fit!

Seems like there is an all time classics list forming here. I'll cherry pick my favourites then:

Leon (Natalie Portman and Gary Oldman - excellent performances)
The Usual Suspects (First watched this one while pissed - very surreal)
French Connection (it's THE car chase innit?)
Ronin (Purely for the driving work and it's got De Niro in)
    Goodfellas (De Niro again)
Fight Club (surprised how good this was)
LA Confidential (Crowe showing his real life nature a bit too much?)

Two of my all time classics though are:
Scarface (That chainsaw scene makes me cringe every time!)
Heat (Pacino AND De Niro - you can't go wrong with these two. The robbery shoot out scene left me stunned the first time I saw it. You have to watch this scene with a decent audio system. The film is maybe a bit too long though.)

So you're the slayer. You're prettier than the last one.

Once upon a time in america, the film is almost perfect in terms of story, acting, music etc if you haven't seen it rent it now. Next on my list is Seven it blew me away at the time and I still watch it occaisonally and it has aged well (not eveyones cup of tea though the ending is either brillant or gimicky depending on your perspective).

goodfellas ruled, must be one of the most underated films ever.
aliens(2nd one) must be best sci-fi horror ever.

Matrix was a film of its own genre. i think that 2+3 will make film history. We will just have to wait and see. :bleh:

I think Shawshank Redemption was an excellent film. Also American Beauty and Fight Club.
A Classic film has to be the Blob though heh

    Default Nice List :)

Nice opinions there have been... somewhat confused that no one has even mentioned the best fil ever, lol...

That has to be the one an only A Clockwork Orange by master Kubrick ( I hope you can get it by now in the UK, lol)

Second... Blade Runner (Directors cut, coz the hollywood ending on the original really pissed me off, lol (Philip K. Dick had a roll in his grave))

Third..hmmm, I think I pick another Kubrick flick, lol.. The Full Metal Jacket... great flick...

4th... yet Kubrick at it, lol.. The Shining... Jack Nicholson makes one of is best actin in that one... and the camera work is superb...

5th.. Reservoir Dogs... the plot and the acting.. awesome...

6 to 10 any movie done by either Monty Python or Sergio Leone, coz them I watch over and over again...

    Yerkov69
"The good, the bad and the Yerk..."

p.s. dont take the piss on matrix.. very enjoyable film.. It took me friggin weeks to solve how they did the camera tricks on it
