This thread seems to have died.Well, the LG drive works. But it seems I need the original dvd drive connected(yellow cable) for it to work. CDRs load really fast. How can we fix the eject problem?

DVD drive replacement
A lite-on LTD-163D is a pretty good replacement drive, loads cd-rom rips and dvd-rs great! Also movies will work on it, bu tyou have to un-region lock it. 16x rocks for loadingBTW this is an external mod, and my original drive is still hooked up via the yellow cable. If you reverse the ide cable you can get it to stretch outside the box

i fully replaced my xbox dvd drive with a pioneer dvd drive.
all i did was cut the plastic bracket that holds the xbox drive ,so that me pioneer slot feeder dvd-rom would fit.
and when i put in a game(backup only)it boots first time and every time,i have found no media that dosen't work.
i can even play dvd on my xbox as long as i use the dvd-x 2.
so there is no reason for keeping the xbox original in the box.
also when i press eject button on my xbox it ejects the disc.so i am very happy little chappy...
i used a pioneer dvd-106s slot feed.
I've also got the Pioneer slot feed (cool innit). Boots everything although cd's make a right racket.
