whats the latest with updating older CFW?

I know this is a noob post but i have just found my psp in a box of old stuff and thought I'd give a few of the new games a bash.

I'm currently on 3.99 m33 and I've downloaded 5.50GEN-D3.Final-Yoshihiro which is 27.9 meg, 2 files in there, a 550.pbp and eboot.pbp in psp/game/update , is this all I need?

the last time I looked you had to update a dozen things before you could start using the hacked FW's

u might get an error whilst updating, well mine just turned off when it started to update. 1st i had to use wireless to update to summot like 5.00m33-4 or summot then copy over the 550.pbp and the eboot.

basically update with wireless 1st before u fire the stuff on u already got

any probs and ill try and talk u through it properly

I thinki you can go straight to the GEN f/w's from M33 but you need to install them in order, starting with GEN-A, then B, C...etc

That's what I did, do the main GEN-A,B,C,D updates first as the GEN1,2,3's are just GEN updates and not the full blown CFW. I also updated my M33 to V6 before I went on to the GEN's though.
