    Default Fargo

i recently watched this over the Bank holiday again, and it reminded me just how good this film really is. Written and directed by the Coen brothers.

its about a man (William H Macy) who arranges with some small time crooks, to have his wife kidnapped for some ransom money from her rich father...........but you guessed it, it all goes pear shaped, it is quite a dark film, and its style is second to none.....the ever brilliant Steve Buscemi lives up to his usual standard and plays one of the crooks great.

    thoroughly recommended, worth a buy.

One of my fave films of all time this, absolutely hilarious...

Only bettered for me by the next 2 Coen films, Big Lebowski and Oh Brother.

Fantastic performance by Francis McDormand deserved the oscar.

I love the Coen brothers movies, Fargo is without doubt a work of art, funny, compelling and quite dark.

I also love The Big Lebowski (John Goodman is fukin hilarious), as is John Turturro who plays a cameo as Jesus Quintana (the ped0 bowler in the purple catsuit).

Another of my fav's is one of their earliest films, Raising Arizona with Nick Cage and Holly Hunter, Francis McDormand plays a gr8 part in this and had me in stitches, and that fukin car chase thru the supermarket etc was the best car chase I've ever seen.

They are prolly my favourite filmakers at the moment along with Wes Anderson (Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, The Royal Tennebaums).
