Had same issue with the wifey, but she has spent 6 months running round that island with the lil cnuts waving at her. Still She thinks she will get out of that cat of obese someday.
Your wife will come round someday soon. You could tell her its a challenge or a quest to gain her confidence. The game is fun and it will make a very small difference to her well being, her scores will come down but i dont think she will come out of the obese section, unless she goes on a diet.
