wii softmod question

hi guys just got a wii today "white one" and softmodded it following the guide on here. i donwloaded that just dance game which is a US rip and burned it at 2x. I put the disc in loaded up NG and loaded game from disc, i get the warning screen about using the wrist strap and then just a black screen. Interestingly when i click on the main wii menu and on the disc channel it says disc was not readable. Those that have softmods working can you confirm that is says this also? I am wondering if it was the cheap tesco dvd-r that i used or wether it is that the drive cannot read it, or maybe because its a US rip. I am quote new to this so not sure where to go next, should there be a setting i need to change in NG? any help appreciated, cheers

Can I just check a few things...

Is this the first game you've burned and tried? Or have you tried others and they're all working with no issues?
What firmware version are you now running?

m8 get some G05 discs and if that fails try switching everything about in the menu...cant say much else as i have not had that game.

first game and updated to 4.2 before soft modding

edit: downloaded a pal version and it works fine although something is not right with the rip and the text is all over the place but thats not an issue with my console cos there are comments regarding the same issue on newzbin. Now gonna grab something else to try. It appears it was an issue with the NTSC rip, should these play on the softmod or do you need to do something to get these working?

neogamma should take care of any region incompatibility issues as far as i know, there have been loaders that can play anything for a while. You should avoid cheapo dvdr in anycase, or even better, use a usb HD.

with the hard drive is there any specific things i should know? eg fat32 or ntfs etc also do i just copy the iso file onto the hard drive and it will be recognised by neogamma? then just selectc load game from hard drive?

you need a usbloader on your wii which can be added the same as neogamma (channel or app), then use a WBFS manager on the pc to format and transfer ISOs to the HDD, this will compress the ISO too. http://wbfsmanager.codeplex.com/

look at the video down the page a bit, loads games from hard drive once youve put them on there in the first place, and you can load the iso straight to the hard drive once you have plugged it into your pc using a wbfs manager such as 909 posted above, and there are others that do the same thing aswell, so no need to ever burn to disk, AND it ONLY installs the files needed and not all the shite so trims down the size of each game you install by a gig or 2 im some cases

cheers for the heads up but if my hard drive fails and i lose all my games i hate to think of the grief i would get from the kids and the wife. grabbed a spindle of verbs from currys for the time being, i could just about swallow £9.99 for 50. will see how I get on. Just to confirm I should not have any probs with NTSC games with neo gamma?
