trouble is the machine vendors know about this type of problem, however there still is a few coins that you can purchase for say half the value of a uk coin and make a fair bit of cash.
i am on about doing a list of coins and where to get them soon, but be quick as im sure this forum is watched.

For anyone going to Thailand:
The 10 baht coin (worth about 15p)
is very similar in weight and appearance,
to the 2Euro coin..
Apparantly some vending machines fall for it..

the british mint make a coin for ghana and it is EXACTLY the same coin apart from the stamp and its value (which i cant remember, but a fraction of a pound)
problem is bringing back half a ton of coins in your suitcase!!
I remember loads of suaddies back in the eighties take loads of the olg big 5p peices over to germany with them as they work in the ciggy machines etc over there and you got 20 fags for 15p or summit.
