    Roulette Systems ?

used to be good at stats, but lets face it there is only one
winner when gambling in the long run. the casino, what
    else pays for Vegas ?

Was speaking to a friend ...who knows a guy who spins the
wheel he had been told that 'the system' that worked
over a large number of spins was to bet on the bottom third
and top third of the board and on evens.

Got the calculator out and it all looks bollox. Then did some searchs on the web and same across loads of books on roulette systems.

Anyone know anything on this ?

I have always though the red / black 50:50 odds is as good as it gets.

    Default ROULETTE

you can use this same system ill tell you about here in blackjack etc,

when playing roulette the best thing to do is use the law of averages!, watch the way the balls playing and do this.

if it spins black 2or 3 times bet red, if you lose and say you put 50 on it then bet red again but this time put 150 on it. carry on this way till you get your cash back plus profits, for better odds and profit use the same system with hi/lo numbers and odds evens etc for example

if evens/red have come out 3 times in a row then bet 50 on black and 50 on odd, if you lose bet 150 on black and 150 on odd etc.

same with blackjack - bet low and when you have lost 3-4 in a row bet high - this sometimes gets the suspicions of the attandents who are watching for card counting.

allways take enough so you cover your bets in case you lose big but by using this sort of system then you can win a tidy profit. i allways win at pontoon when playing the lads using this exact methods and sometimes i walk away 200+

    hope this helps peeps

There is no system for Roulette, it is completly random (or as much as it can be.) Although IIRC it does offer the best odds in a casino!

The best payout is Red and Black, though remeber they are not 50%. (The casino would make no cash if it was 50%!) They are infact 49.31% for a UK casino, where you have one 0 which pays back half, or 47.39% in a US casino which has 0 and 00 and doesnt pay half.

The problem with Det's idea (which I have done myself :) is that you run out of cash quickly. I have seen black roll in over 10 times in a row, so it kind of gets painfull doubling down!

Personally Ive given up the roulette prefering craps as its simply a whole lot more fun!

Just because it has rolled onto black ten times in a row doesn't mean that the odds of being black again are any higher.

each spin is completely independant of the last, and therefore if it landed on black 100 times in a row, the next spin still has a roughly 50/50 chance of landing on the red.

Don't be fooled into thinking otherwise.

Taking it to be 50:50, did a few calcs. As Yazmon says, you can run out of cash quickly...

Heh, not sure what all that is, but if you double down ignoring the half payout you always make double your original stake, if you eventually win. However the about of cash you need to lay down in total is:

    Stake * (2 ^ Spins) - Stake

    Which gets large quickly

roulettes a big stitch up! for a start theres 37 numbers on the wheel including zero but if you bet a single number straight up for a pound you will win 35.00 odds 35-1, so if you bet every number on the table at a cost of 37 quid you'll only get 35 back losing 2 quid a spin..................

dice is the only game in the casino with TRUE ODDS.

Dont numbers pay you back 35+1 for the stake (ie 35-1)? You will always loose a pound of you put a nugget on every number.

Im not exactly sure what you mean by 'true odds', but let me tell ya, all games in the casino pay out under 50%, otherwise the casino wouldnt make money. (You could argue poker pays more, but the casino takes a cut of the pot instead of playing against you.)

The system I know is simple but works.

    1. Pick a colour and stick to it.

    2. Bet 50

    3. If you lose bet 100, if you lose again bet 200, again bet 400..............you get the idea. Eventually you will win and be evens.

    4.Start again

5.If you win take it and start again.

The only problem with this is you might need A LOT of money, if you get 10 loses in row for example (happens more than you might think), and most tables have bettin limit.

    Hope this helps.

Er, yeah, by 6 spins of the wrong colour (seen a run a lot more than 6...) your down 1,550. By 10 your in the hole 51,150.

Heh "Eventually you will win and be evens. " Ever the optimist

The other big problem with most of these schemes is that some casinos have a maximum bet limit. If you hit this while your doubling your bets then you are knackered and out of pocket big time.

On the subject of systems, I saw this old geezer (with a gorgeous blonde on his arm too) playing this system on a cruise ship on the way to Miami. He was basically betting on all the intersections on the middle set of 12 numbers on the board. This takes 6 chips, each chip covering 4 numbers. I tried the same thing at a works party a few months later (with fake money unfortunately) and won a fair pile of cash (yes fake cash). On the other hand though, one of my mates copied the same scheme and lost his money in double quick time! Just goes to show that there's no such thing as a fool proof scheme.

I hear that the best game to play is BlackJack. I think I heard that if you know how to bet properly, then the house only has a 0.5% advantage over you. In the long run, the house always wins though.

I have a system that has worked quite well. Out of the past three visits, one time I was up 1300 the other time 1000. It takes time and paitence, but is well worth it.

I tried it on a touch bet recently that had a robot wheel, last time I touch one of them!!! Lost about 300.

Pity most house rules don't let you do this more than a 8 times in a row.

Hmm, Ive never seen a Casino that disallows the same bet x number of times. More than likley going to hit the table limit. (Starting with a 5 stake means you are going to have to lay down 1275.)

Personally Im going to stick with Financial Spread Bets, way more fun and it involves something more than luck!!

I haven't either but one of my co-workers is in gamblers anonymous (which was one of the first things he told me on my first day in this job ) and he's always ranting on about the odds of winning.

Mind you, he's also told me how the devil and evil spirits influence the roulette wheel. (MMMmmm..... So it's not the croupier and his foot pedal then lol )

I play Blackjack mostly and one thing I've always stuck to is whatever I get with two cards if its over 11 I stick. The way I look at it, as soon as you take another card on 12 or over you then risk beating yourself. Don't look at the dealers cards they don't matter cos you can't influence them. Play your own hand and stick to a system. Play the same way ALL the time and you must win sometime.
