Downloaded p.c games

I`m new to this, but iv`e downloaded a couple of games and burnt them to cd and installed them with no probs, but when i come to play the games a message comes up saying that the cd can`t be recognised.
Do i need to patch them?
I got them from Mirc!

I dont know about downloading games as that is illegal - But when making backups from a copy you own - which is allowed - its very common to have to by pass the games copy protection.

check out www.gamecopyworld.com for info on the titles you are talking about also www.gamefix.com is a good site. I am surprised that downloaded titles need this though - have you checked the folders on the discs you have burnt as they may contain instructions or crack files to fix the problems - this is of course illegal and not something I have even done ever ever ever in my life.

Thanks but iv`e been to these sites and read about the no cd fix.
Installed daemon tools but with no sucses, what i need to know is do you normaly have to patch a game thats been downloaded from the likes of mirc for it to work?
Only legal shareware of course!

The short answer is no but only if they are "offical" releases by cracking groups. If someone has just created a RAW image or ISO from his original and uploaded it then it will require a crack or software to bypass the safedisc (or whatever) just as if you were trying to backup an original yourself. Was there an NFO file with it ?

the crack folder is usually on the cd open the crack folder and copy and paste into the games folder you have installed on your hard drive this will replace the games original exe. file and you wont get the cant find cd notice
if its not on the cd then goto one of the above mentioned sites and download there no cd crack for the game

What games are they we need to know and we can tell you what version of Securom, Safedisc and if there is a public release crack for them , or i can tell you if poss to crack it yourself

Probably u need to copy and paste the cracked exe that u'll find on cd in crack dir into the install dir of the game on HD and than u can play...
