Does anyone know where i can get a V64 repaired in the UK. I have two dead units that require attention.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Man they are shit aren't they I've had and sold several of these units and they have all just about died...

You used to be able to pick up a few parts from Madeira games but they got warned by Ninty. Maybe a couple of the HK suppliers can still get parts.

well I have dead one and basically the buttons have stopped working!

Apparently this is quite a common problem. Its a real pisser as it means you can't use the CD drive at all which means the only way to load games is by hooking it up to the PC and you all know how long it takes to send roms via the cable!!!

    any thoughts?

mine has died twice, i just opened it up and re seated the chips and connectors, most of the problems seem to be heat related with things creeping out of their sockets (like the early amiga 500's), its always cured it, mine is still running and i got it within 2 weeks of them coming out, and believe me its had some hammer

I got 2 spare 128M ram sticks for Doctor64 to sell.. ebay wont let me list them. Anyone wanna swap/buy em off me? Also I got around 10 or so replacement BIOS chips - swap out your bios if its dead (black screen).. black screen might be from a totally dead mobo or dead psu though.

You can get a new power supply from:
    www.totoek.com

It's $45 though, which i think is a bit steep but they are hard to get hold of
