Try this site m8, dont know if it is of any help to anyone?
The Polyphonic ringtones (mmf format) is copyrighted by Yamaha I found this http://smaf.yamaha.co.jp/index-e.html it but cant make head or tale of it see what you think.

Hope it works, please put your feed back on this site.

Ok lads, there is no "mmf" tunes to be found on the net (yet!) but here's how to make your own....

first you need download psmplayer from http://yangxi.9f.com

    this util will....

    a) play "mmf" files on your pc (so you can hear what they sound like)

    b) convert "wav" and "mid" files into "mmf" files.

I have found that creating mmf files from wav sound clips is a none starter (due to file size restrictions) - best stick to midi clips.

Loads of midi tunes can be downloaded from www.mididb.com

Just grab your midi file from there and convert it on the psmplayer.

To start the ball rolling, attached are 17 mmf files I have made...

Right then, start creating your own tunes, then post em on here!

Soz, dunno why it won't let me upload?

So instead, I got up off me ass and found you another download site.

And actually, I have found A BETTER VERSION (more options) IN ENGLISH...

    Try this...

    http://www.ne.jp/asahi/phs/phs/psmplayer/index.html

(obviously, you won't be able to read this web page - just download the english version of PSMplayer)

    Muhahahahaha!
I've turned chippy into polyphonic factory (sounds like a good name for a web site!)

    Nice one chippy.

The only restricting problem now, is finding modern songs in midi format (for free).. as i'm sure chippy is also having this prob. If anyone knows any good sources for midi's (other that mididb.com) let us know!!!!

A quick tip, in using psmplayer. You can assign your smaf & midi files to psmplayer, so you can just double click on a file to play it in psmplayer. here's how (using xp).....

In windows explorer, right click on any smaf file
    click on properties
click on the "change" box (next to the "opens with")
then click on the "browse" box
and finally point it to the psmplayer exe in whatever directory.

repeat the same thing with a midi file. Now when you double click on a smaf / midi file, psmplayer will auto run.

Finally, what do you all prefer as ring tones?

    Virtually the whole song?
    or short extracts from songs??????

I come from a far away virtual space called isonews.com.

I came in search of forums, when pre mentioned site had big downtime.

I found people in the middle of an polyphonic desert, with only mozart & other dead people to please them.

A voice said "make one, and he will come"

That night I found eastern tools and I created "Sandstorm" (the isonews anthem) as well as others

The one they call "Chippy" then saw my plight

    The rest is history
