Default Buggered drive permanently by tweaking pot?

Has anyone here bodged their drive or can you always restore the POT value and everything is the same as before?

yes i have buggerd it and yes it seems to be to late after i changed the pot. the pot never gave a reading ever since and it hasnt worked since and it proably never will again ... but i have added a external drive to it and im ok about that. Thats the risk you take if you do this mod !!!!

Whats the name of the "proper trimming tool for pot adjustment"? Do I just go to RS and say "I need a proper trimming tool for pot adjustment"?

all i can think is that the pot is being physically damaged in these cases... you should still get a reading from the pot unless it is physically broken by turning too far or breaking the screw whilst removing the resin

    hi maltloaf,

the problem is that altho the pot is fine, it jumps in reading from 1.8K to 0.8K... nothing I can do about it, and the multimeter is fine so the problem isn't there.

wish I'd never tried touching it now
