I can see the VIP section but not inside it

My VIP membership lapsed ages ago and ever since I've been able to see the sections in the VIP section but not inside them - previously they were just totally hidden.

I don't really give a fuck to be honest and don't care if it gets fixed because it makes no difference to anything but mentioned it in another thread for some reason and now feel obliged to post here about it.

yep thats correct.

you cant see the sections but you cant see anything in the sections.

Is that not like the equivalent of say paying a years worth of xbox live subs and 2 years later wondering why you are now a Silver member and can't play online anymore ?

He's not wondering why he has no access - that's pretty obvious. Until recently the VIP was completely hidden to non-VIPs, now I assume you can see the section but not access it.

I presume the ability to see the section and not be able to access is just to promote awareness about the section and hence create more members no ?

Ah maybe things have changed since my VIP days, one of the rules back then was that you don't talk about what's in the VIP section on the open board and hence the section names were always kept private.

Somebody did once release a screenshot where you could see the dogging section and free beer deals and all sorts of secret stuff but lucky most of the proletariat thought it was a joke, close save that one.

Have you considered the possibility that the preview you can see is not the real thing?

Lol it's funny you should say that because years ago I got banned for 24 hours for slagging off pensioners or something, and when I got unbanned I was accidentally given full read/write access to the board including all (I think) mod/admin sections. Of course I reported it straight away but couldn't resist a very quick scan down the sections I could now see, mostly just to see what they actually were cos it was a bit confusing suddenly seeing a heap of extra sections. This included a thread called simply "twoplanks" debating whether I was really as much of a tit as I appear or a normal person taking the piss.

Probably shouldn't admit to that but it was genuinely the only one I looked at out of the entire mod and admin sections and quite irresistible given it's title. Straight after that amusing read I was in here reporting it and getting it sorted out.

Have any admins got the conclusive answer on whether or not I should be able to see the VIP section headings? I admit it makes sense to have it either way so not sure what the story is.

EDIT: Just spotted Raptor's reply above - first read it when a bit drunk the other week and didn't notice his obvious typo, he clearly meant to say "you CAN see the section headings but CAN'T see the contents" so that clears it up. Splendid stuff.
