al you have to do m8 is once connected to your xbox just select the c:/ drive
you will then see all its contents
just copy the lot over to your pc
i burned them to a cd aswell just to be on the safe side

thanx freaky do you know if the xbox bios can be flashed without a modchip installed I saw a new modchip thats being released that allows you to falsh the bios without headaches

Finally i flashed my onboard bios chip.
First time i did it from flashfxp with raw command but that didnt work.All it did was blank the chip i think.
After reading about on the net i find u can do it all from the controller.
Set up evox to run from harddrive and then make a folder called roms on c Put the the evox image in there and your set.
Disconnect from xbox and reboot it. After its in evox goto flash then it should display the bios image you put in the roms folder.
This is the time to disable the mod. After u done that press a and it should display the xbox flashrom details and say press y to flash.i got to here 4 times and when i pressed y nothing happened all cas i didnt dissable the mod completely.
I have a homebrew mod and i had to disconnet the link wire and pin 16 and 32.
Not sure what u gota take out for other mods.

Allso u gota do the jumpers top and bottom of board and it seems that the st bios chip are uk but the for the Hyundai you must use a modified version of dysfunctions flasher.
Im happy now and gona get a 80 gig drive soon but at 3.30 last night i was nearly in tears.

Ok I've been playing around with Evolution X for awhile now and have been noticing some problems...

First off, I loaded the evloution dashboard just because it is easier than loading the cd etc. I had linked the M$ dash as an option in the menu and everything seemed to be working fine. But I can't load ANY original DVD movies now!?!? As well, I've been playing some of my games (originals) and out of no where, it loads back to the evolution dashboard. I loaded the original dash and all is well. Games and DVD's are fine.

So my analysis:

You can not play DVD movies when the Evolution X set as the dashboard and it may reset back to the dash.

For the Record I'm using EvolutionX V1.8.458, and the Enigmah beta (will get the final as soon as G ame G izmo gives me the f00king thing!!!)

Can you guys try loading original DVD'z and let me know if they boot? and let me know if it resets on you? It is possible its because the chip is a beta but I just want to get some feedback from other people before I start breaking things

I don't have the DVD kit, but my games on original DVDs work fine. Have you tried running your DVD movie from the original dash which is linked to Evolution-X dash. ie. start up your XBox, start original dash from menu option and then insert your movie...

Ok, this is what I've experienced so far:

1. Backed Up my xbox C:\ and burned it to CD. (Just in case...)
2. Removed xboxdash.xbe and replaced it with evo-x xboxdash.xbe - worked fine.
3. XBOX loads my only original game (Halo) fine.
4. ProjectX releases like Tony Hawk 2 work fine.
5. Copying files from XBOX DVD to PC HD works fine.

BUT (what really pisses me off)

6. Max Payne (projectX release) on DVD-RW - which works just fine with M$ dash installed - just won't start. The XBOX logo screen comes up, with the white Microsoft text under that and then it jumps to Evo's dash...

Do you think the version of the dash has a bearing on games working or not? Looks like that, cause after I reinstalled M$'s dash it worked fine again...

Any suggestions?

Maybe this is the protection they were talking about! Maybe the original dash works fine, but the Evolution-X one doesn't.

i ripped max payne to my pc, rebuilt the iso image, burned it to a DVD-RW, and it just hangs on the loading screen with the red line along the bottom.

so has anyone got this to work, dont wanna waste time trying again if its not gonna work
