it is perfectly possible to travel in time - but not like walking through a 'time' door or something.
Basically - as you become closer to the speed to light, time slows down. This is even true for people on airplanes - although the difference is so small it hardly worth a glance. However - they have taken an atomic clock on a spaceship and flown it around the earth a few times. Now since the space ship is reaching such faster speeds (something in the region of 25,000+ mph) then time can actually be measured as slowing down for the inhabitants of the space ship.
When they bring the atomic clock back, it actually shows a few billionths of secs difference - therefore making the atomic clock in the ship 'ever' so slightly younger than its earthbound twin.
Now considering the speed of light is approx 125,000 miles per second, and the average spaceship currently travels at around 25,000+ mph - theres alot of speed to make up before we can
start to send 'people' into the future.
say we could get 'near' the speed of light - and send someone for a 8 hour trip around the solar-system -they would return to a world that has aged a few years or so - so they have effectivily travelling forward in time - in relation to the people on earth.
They could not however - go back in time - also, we don't have anything that can project someone at those speeds.
so at the moment - put up with flying around the world on hoilday - and that by the time you land, you'll be a trillionth of a second younger than your mates at home!
cheers
