The Vines album, "Highly Evolved", is excellent. Possibly one of the best debut albums I have ever heard (the Strokes is another good one).

    Buy this album!
Not the best album in the world.... but pretty damn good.

    Moby - Play
    Eminem - Marshal Mathers
    Disturbed - The Sickness
    David Grey
    Dirty Dancing (Movie Soundtrack)
    Verve - Urban Hymns
    Limp Bizkit - Chocolate Starfish

I think those must be taken into consideration too. The two most Dirty Dancing and Eminem one though have to be top on my list with Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory

The only reason for this post is to inspire people to listen to a wide range of music. the choice of best album ever is subjective.
watch the post and try the music, some of it might open your eyes.
If it sounds good to you then it's good.

    The best for me:

Without a doubt, Motown Charbusters Volume 1.

    2nd:

    Led Zep Remasters

    3rd:

    Young Gifted And Black.

    4th:

    CSN.

    5th:

    Ry Cooder, Borderline.

My personal choice listen to them and the rest mentioned by other members, broaden your awareness of this music thing.

    Well

To add something here, lol... the best album is easy, but the followers are hard...

Number one spot still is :

    1.Pink Floyd - The Wall

Then the competiton is quite even....

    2. Marillion - Misplaced Childhood

    3. Slayer - Reign in Blood

    4. Metallica - Master of Puppets

    5. Entombed - Wolverine Blues

best of the year 2002 must go to Korn - The Untouchables, really great stuff...

Linkin Park is just noise without attitude

37 replies so far and no-one has mentioned Rattus Norvegicus by The Stranglers!

25 years on and it's still the best album ever released (IMHO).

    To set an order:

1: Appetite For Destruction - GNR
2: Far Beyond Driven - Pantera
3: The Wall - Pink Floyd
4: The Black Album - Metallica
5: Dirt - Alice In Chains
6: King For A Day / Fool For A Lifetime - Faith No More
7: Rage Against The Machine - Rage Against The Machine.
8: America's Volume Dealer - Corrosion Of Conformity

...oh i could go on ...

The best album of all time has to be Appetite For Destruction by Guns'N'Roses. Its one of the greatest rock albums. We don’t hear that kind of diversity on CD's these days. Linkin Park are a fine example of the one dimensional approach to music that is overheating the music industry. These days bands are only expected to do one type of song and then stretch that out over one or two records with no growth or broader scope. This leads to a total changeover of bands every year instead of letting talent grow.

To those that posted mainly rock albums could I suggest you check out 'Tantric'. They are a fairly new American band...no I'm not a member or affiliated in anyway. I downloaded one of their tracks by total accident and I fell in love with their music. Download either “Down” or “Breakdown”….then go out and buy the album. To anyone who does give them a chance I would be very interested to know what you think of them.

    Nice.

PS: crap crap crap I forgot to put "Welcome to sky valley" by Kyuss....Ill be adding CD's all day now.

    -------------------------
Hybrid returns from taking himself out an shooting himself with a ball of his own shit for not mentioning even ONE of Bowie's albums! I'd have a hard time choosing a favorite, but...........Ziggy Stardust WOULD be right up there with Diamond Dogs, Young Americans, Aladdin Sane, Heroes, Changes, Hunky dory, Scary monsters, Station to Station, Pin Ups, Lodger, Let's Dance, The Man Who Sold The World and Lodger, did I miss any?????????
